15th April... Ipswich

At last some new gigs to advise you all about. April & May dates listed on the Current Activities page...

Drew sent in scans of Directory 79, so check out the Publications section.

Simon and Bruce both sent in a copy of the interview JCC recently did with the English newspaper 'The Independent,' so check out the Reviews Section...

Bruce also e-mailed in about a couple of newly discovered poems... 'Concussion' - which was published in 'Grandchildren of Albion' (see the Publications section) - and 'The Pagan.' Both of these poems have been added to the Poem List.

Bad news: It seems the package we sent to John arrived in England ok, but never made it to his home. That means our interview questions and the Crimewave USA mag we sent him must now be considered lost. The net result of this is yet another delay in the interview.

Good news: John has promised to consult his diary soon and let us have an updated gig list for 1998. Apparantly 1998 has been quiet so far with not many gigs.

In other news... It seems that 'Ten Years In An Open Necked Shirt' is available on video from Concorde Video in Ipswich (UK). I gather they are the official outlet for the Arts Council and are the only place selling this item. See the Video page for more info...

More video news: Iain in the UK has discovered a previously unknown compilation video called 'Word of Mouth.' For more information about this one, see the Trivia section or go directly to the new page 'Word of Mouth.'.

New Guestbook & Mailbag entries have also been added, so check 'em out.

People seeking the Book TYIAONS may be interested to know I have added an e-mail address for Random House. See the Publications page about it for more info... There's also a book finding service called 'HP Bookfinders' who may be able to help people... go to http://www.hp_bookfinders.co.uk and tell them you want a copy.

If you want to be added to the e-mail list and advised of news and updates, please e-mail here to let us know you want in...

On a related issue, when I sent out the last e-mail updater the other day, several of them came back as undeliverable. So if you have recently changed your e-mail address and still want to be kept informed, please let me have your new e-mail address.

Again, thanks to all the people who have written and sent stuff in. It's really what makes doing this site so much fun and time consuming.

Previous (older) Updates...

#1... I'm told to advise users of this site to be on the look out for new writings by John in 'Gargoyle Magazine' (an American arts publication) and also for a new Weekend Section in the UK's 'Financial Times.' Not sure when any of these will be appearing, so be on the look out for 'em and let us know if you see them.

#2... It seems that Scotland is about to be hit by a JCC poster campaign... I'm told that John's poems will be appearing on the public transport system there sometime over the next three months. As soon as we get a poster, we'll scan it and put it up.

#3... Martin Hannet update: I recently heard that somone called Paul Crompton in the UK made a short film about Martin last year. I'm hoping we can get some more information about this soon.

Now for the viewing instructions:

    A) This site is best viewed with Netscape 3.0/4.0 - though you can get by with anything if you have to.

    B) This site is best not viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Why? Because we hate it.

    C) The pages are set up for a 14 inch monitor, so if you see any of the background patterns repeating themselves on the right hand side of your monitor, just drag your browser window in a little till they don't.

    D) Because some of the pages can be accessed from different places, I decided not to put links on them. If you find yourself on a page with no links - like the lyric pages for example - simply use the 'back' button on your browser to go back one step.

    E) If you're an internet novice, you have my condolences.

    F) That's enough viewing instructions. (WebMaster)
